Acceptable Use Policy

This policy sets out how members may — and may not — use Pera. It applies to every member, on every part of the service, at all times. It sits alongside our Terms and our Community Guidelines and is enforced by the House.

Who this applies to

This policy applies to anyone accessing Pera, including applicants, approved members and paying members. Membership is restricted to adults aged 25 and over. Accounts registered by anyone under 18 are prohibited without exception and will be removed and reported to the appropriate authorities.

Prohibited uses

You must not use Pera, or any content, message, profile or feature on Pera, to do or facilitate any of the following:

  • Offer, request, arrange or advertise commercial sexual services of any kind, including escorting, prostitution, sugar-dating, "arrangements" involving payment or material support in exchange for companionship or intimacy, compensated dating, webcam or paid adult content, or any transactional sexual activity.
  • Post, send, request or solicit sexually explicit imagery, pornography, nudity, or sexually suggestive content involving anyone who is — or appears to be — under 18. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the National Crime Agency (CEOP) and any other competent authority without prior notice.
  • Engage in human trafficking, sexual exploitation, coercion, forced marriage, or the recruitment, transportation or harbouring of any person for those purposes.
  • Harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, defame, blackmail or incite violence against any person, or send unwanted sexual content or persistent contact after a member has declined or gone silent.
  • Post hateful, discriminatory or dehumanising content targeting a person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other protected characteristic.
  • Impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity, age, marital status or photographs, use AI-generated or stolen images as your own, or operate an account on behalf of someone else without permission.
  • Commit or attempt fraud, money laundering, chargeback abuse, unauthorised use of payment instruments, or the sale, trade or transfer of Pera accounts.
  • Promote, sell, supply or arrange the supply of illegal drugs, weapons, stolen goods, counterfeit items, or any goods or services whose sale is restricted under UK law.
  • Use Pera to solicit for unrelated commercial purposes: recruiting, network marketing, promoting external websites, crypto or investment schemes, or directing members off-platform for financial gain.
  • Collect, scrape, republish, screenshot for distribution, or otherwise disclose other members' identities, photographs, messages or personal information outside Pera.
  • Interfere with the service: attempting to bypass access controls, moderation or verification; probing for vulnerabilities without authorisation; introducing malware; or making automated requests that place undue load on the platform.
  • Breach any applicable law of the United Kingdom or of the jurisdiction from which you are accessing Pera.

Content standards

Profile photographs, biographies and messages must be your own, accurate, and tasteful. Nudity, sexually explicit imagery, graphic violence, hate symbols, illegal content and content that identifies third parties without their consent are not permitted and will be removed.

Reporting and enforcement

If you encounter conduct or content that breaches this policy, report it to the House at hello@joinpera.co.uk. Reports are handled confidentially.

Breach of this policy may result in warning, content removal, suspension or permanent removal from Pera, forfeiture of membership fees, and — where the law requires or permits — referral to law enforcement. We may act without prior notice where a breach is serious, ongoing, or presents a risk to another person.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the service, in the law, or in the standards expected of our payments partners. The current version is always the one published at this URL.
