Community Guidelines
Pera is built on trust between strangers. These guidelines are the small, deliberate habits that keep the room quiet, the company considered and the door worth knocking on.
Speak with Respect
Address other members as you would a guest at your own table: with warmth, attention and patience. Disagreement is welcome; condescension is not.
No Hate Speech
Pera does not tolerate language or imagery that demeans a person on the basis of race, religion, nationality, gender, sexuality, disability or any other dimension of who they are.
No Harassment
Persistent unwanted contact, sexual pressure, threats, intimidation and the public shaming of another member are grounds for removal. Silence is a complete answer.
Nothing Explicit or Inappropriate
Profile photographs and messages must remain tasteful. Nudity, sexually explicit material, graphic violence and content that exploits or endangers minors have no place in Pera and will be removed without notice.
A Privacy-First Culture
What is said inside Pera stays inside Pera. The identities, photographs and confidences shared by other members are not yours to publish, repeat or forward.
Do Not Share Profiles Externally
Screenshots, recordings and the redistribution of another member's profile, messages or photographs are strongly discouraged and may result in removal. If something concerns you, report it to the House rather than to the public.
Be Yourself
Pera works because every member behind a profile is real. Use your own name, your own photographs and an honest portrait of yourself. Misrepresentation breaks the contract you signed at the door.
A Curated Atmosphere
Pera is not a marketplace, a network, or a stage. Avoid solicitation, self-promotion and the broadcasting of services. Approach the club as a private room of considered people — because that is what it is.
Reporting
If something here troubles you, write to the House. Reports are treated confidentially and acted upon quickly. The room is kept quiet by the people who care to keep it so.
